Breguet Titanium Marine Chronographe

Breguet 5527TI

The chronograph tradition is firmly rooted in the tradition of the Breguet Manufacture. A precision instrument largely perfected by Abraham-Louis Breguet himself, the chronograph has seen its uses associated with the navy, sports, astronomy, air navigation, among others.

The long tradition of the chronograph at Breguet

The chronograph and Breguet have been associated for nearly 250 years. A large number of wristwatch models from the Breguet Manufacture today include a chronograph among the complications present in its collections.

According to the canons of fine watchmaking defined by Breguet, this chronograph is always integrated into the manufacture calibre - it is never a chronograph module added to an existing movement. Depending on its collection, this Breguet chronograph is clocked at a higher or lower frequency. There is thus a Breguet factory wristwatch watch reference whose chronograph beats at 10 Hz, an extremely rare frequency for a wristwatch chronograph.

In the new Breguet Marine Chronograph 5527 collection (reference 5527TI), the chronograph is clocked at a frequency of 4 Hz. It is part of a mechanical self-winding movement, the calibre 582QA, with a diameter of 13½ lines and 28 jewels. As required by the tradition of Breguet haute horlogerie, this chronograph movement is individually numbered and signed by Breguet. Its power reserve is 48 hours.

Benefits of silicon

The escapement that powers this chronograph from Breguet's Marine Chronograph collection has an inverted in-line anchor escapement with silicon horns and silicon spiral. The use of this material at Breguet, particularly in this Marine Chronograph 5527TI model, offers greater stability to the chronograph as well as complete insensitivity to magnetic fields and temperature variations.

A completely modernised chronograph

The use of silicon on the Breguet Marine Chronograph 5527 (reference 5527TI) wristwatch contributes to the contemporary imprint of this watch. In addition to modernizing the chronograph calibre in this collection, Breguet has also redesigned it, with an ultra-light titanium case that is scratch-resistant and corrosion-resistant. These properties reinforce the sporty and contemporary character of the Breguet Marine Chronograph 5527 collection (reference 5527TI). The same applies to the completely redesigned indexes and the rubber strap, a first for Breguet on a titanium case, which gives this chronograph strap watch a truly exceptional character.

On the dial side, the Breguet Marine Chronograph 5527 collection benefits from improved readability thanks to revised and optimized chronograph counters, both in their arrangement and in their size on the gold dial. The colour of this dial is associated with the rubber strap of this Breguet Marine Chronograph 5527 (reference 5527TI) bracelet watch, at the forefront of the Marine collection.
