ANGELUS CHRONODATE REVOLUTION

First released in 1942, the Angelus Chronodate is a truly storied name in the history of watches. It would have been easy for Angelus to recreate this cult model as an exact replica, a pretty vintage-styled 38mm chronograph. Instead, they did something much more exciting and significant, housing the new Chronodate in a sporty 42.5mm case and adding a healthy dash of contemporary influence into the historically-inspired design. The result is a watch full of intriguing dynamic tension.

While the case of this 25-piece limited edition is incredible, complicated and worthy of your attention alone, it’s the dial that’s likely to take your breath away. Salmon dials have become something of a house speciality here at Revolution, and this rich grené-finished example, with its prominent counters and applied Arabic numerals, is one of the finest we’ve seen. Finally, to celebrate in style, each watch will come with a bottle from the watchmaker’s namesake, the prestigious Château Angélus, a Grand Crus Bordeaux vineyard. This tasty association is also where the name “Angels’ Share” springs from.
