With the Pulse60 in rose gold 750/1000 and titanium, Dominique Renaud presents a deeply personal vision of contemporary haute horlogerie. This creation introduces a groundbreaking movement designed around a concept rarely explored at this level: ultra-low frequency applied to a mechanical wristwatch.
The result of several years of development, the Pulse60 is built on an architecture entirely centered around a monumental 20-mm balance wheel oscillating at just 1 Hz—or 60 beats per minute. A deliberately slow cadence that evokes the rhythm of the human heart at rest and literally transforms the perception of time. Where high frequency multiplies the beats, Dominique Renaud prioritizes here the mastery of rhythm, stability, and the fluidity of the movement.
This extraordinary mechanical approach significantly reduces escapement disturbances while improving timekeeping stability. To support this philosophy, Dominique Renaud has completely redesigned the regulating organ to allow an amplitude exceeding 360°, without any back-swing. A major technical breakthrough that opens up new territory for horological expression.
Visually, the Pulse60 immediately asserts its personality. The bi-material case in rose gold and titanium features a fluid, seamless silhouette inspired by the futuristic designs of the 1970s, which are dear to Dominique Renaud. The domed sapphire crystal appears to blend into the case, while the absence of lugs reinforces the natural integration of the bracelet. The dial reveals the spectacular large balance wheel on the front, the true beating heart of the watch.
The rose gold 750/1000 and titanium version also stands out for its refined dial, reinterpreting traditional guilloché patterns in a resolutely contemporary style. The display features an hour/minute counter at 12 o’clock, a natural dead half-second at 9 o’clock, and a torque indicator at 3 o’clock directly linked to the mainspring barrel. The open case back reveals a streamlined architecture showcasing the atypical construction of the escapement and the patented offset rack system.
