H. MOSER & CIE. PLAYS THE CONTRASTS CARD
Playing the card of contrasts, H. Moser & Cie. combines radiant red gold with the absolute black of Vantablack®, which literally absorbs light. A striking marriage, a bewitching dance between two extremes, whose differences intertwine to form a captivating duality that fascinates and inflames.
With the Endeavour Tourbillon Concept Vantablack® and Endeavour Centre Seconds Vantablack® models, H. Moser & Cie. has created a timeless timepiece of understated elegance, a perfect marriage of tradition and nanotechnology, highlighting a luxury with a human identity, focused on the primary purpose of watchmaking: not just to tell the time, but to convey emotion.
H. Moser & Cie. orchestrates the meeting of light and shadow in a captivating visual symphony. The flamboyant warmth of red gold for the 40 mm-diameter case and hands is contrasted with the endless abyss of a dial in Vantablack®, an ultra-black coating recognized as the darkest substance in the world. Composed of carbon nanostructures, this innovative material was developed for astrophysics and is used in telescopes, as well as by the military to enhance the stealth of certain equipment. When a photon strikes Vantablack®, 99.965% of the light is absorbed. Just as the eye needs reflected light to perceive what is in front of it, Vantablack® is perceived as an absence of matter, a black hole.
With the Endeavour Tourbillon Concept Vantablack®, H. Moser & Cie. offers an ode to sobriety.
Positioned at six o’clock, the one-minute flying tourbillon literally seems to float in the middle of a black hole, with no reflections, indexes or logos to disturb the view. A marvel of ingenuity, the self-winding HMC 804 caliber that powers this model is fitted with a double balance-spring designed and produced in-house. Thanks to this pair of concordant balance springs, the displacement of the point of gravity undergone by each spring as it expands is corrected and the effect of friction reduced, significantly improving precision and isochronism in a continuous quest for perfection.
With this model, H. Moser & Cie. perfectly blends elegance and tradition with cutting-edge nanotechnology. And it reminds us that, behind a brand, there are first and foremost talented watchmakers and dial-makers, demonstrating that a true luxury product is immediately identifiable, even without a visible logo. In this way, it puts the spotlight back on luxury craftsmanship and the beauty of know-how, often overshadowed by the underlying marketing, and proves once again that simplicity has an unsuspected effectiveness and strength.
