Jacob & Co x CR7 Epic X: A Collaboration of Excellence Between Cristiano Ronaldo and Jacob Arabo

Cristiano Ronaldo is a long-standing and loyal partner of Jacob & Co. Over the past twenty years, he and founder and chairman Jacob Arabo have built a solid relationship based on mutual trust and respect. Jacob Arabo met Cristiano Ronaldo when the latter was still a rising soccer star, and their friendship has blossomed ever since.

The two men share a common quest for excellence, having both built their success from the ground up through sheer determination and hard work. This friendship has blossomed into a professional collaboration, where Jacob & Co. designs and manufactures watches bearing the effigy of Cristiano Ronaldo, branded by the two great entities.

The Jacob & Co x CR7 Epic X collection is a highly personalized interpretation of the Epic X. The Flight of CR7 and Heart of CR7 models take up its distinctive features: a 44 mm case with X-shaped lugs, a smooth polished or diamond-set bezel, and colored elements such as the crown and flange. They are powered by one of Jacob & Co’s emblematic calibers, whose skeletonized movement features a remarkable architecture. The two vertical pillars form the central part of the X shape initiated by the lugs, giving the Epic X its name.

In this collection, these pillars are designed to represent Cristiano Ronaldo and the CR7 brand. The left pillar is sculpted in the image of Ronaldo in various postures, while the right pillar features the CR7 logo and the player’s handwritten signature. The skeleton barrel cover is shaped like a football. Another image of Ronaldo, wearing his famous number 7 jersey, is printed in gold on the tinted sapphire crystal of the caseback.

The JCAM45 caliber is central to the identity of the Epic X CR7. Designed from the outset as a skeleton, it features a free, graphic structure. The large barrel at 12 o’clock and the balance wheel at 6 o’clock emphasize the verticality of the caliber, reinforced by the vertical bridges that run alongside them. The left pillar takes the shape of Cristiano Ronaldo wearing his number 7 jersey.

The JCAM45 caliber is extremely openworked, with the plate’s black-plated surfaces finished with circular graining, sandblasting and vertical graining. A view of the back of the movement reveals another iconic image of Ronaldo, printed in gold on a translucent, tinted mineral glass plate, covered by a sapphire back.
