Jacob Arabo, founder and president of Jacob & Co, emigrated to the United States from the former USSR to offer his family a better life. Arriving with his parents and four sisters, he quickly seized the opportunities available to him. His passion for watchmaking began during his apprenticeship with a watchmaker, inspired by a watch given to him by his father at the age of 13.
After training as a jeweler through an immigrant program, he began assembling jewelry in a local factory. Dissatisfied with mass production, he began designing his own pieces, quickly gaining a loyal clientele.
In 1986, building on his success, Jacob launched his own luxury brand, Jacob & Co. Although he initially focused on jewelry, his love of watches never left him. He overcame many challenges to realize his dream of creating luxury watches, including designing the famous Five Timezone watch.
