Laurent's opinion
What immediately strikes the eye is the visual power of movement. The whirlwind and open architecture give the watch a strong, almost hypnotic mechanical presence that is perfectly assured.

Marco Tedeschi's first signature watch

Unveiled at Watches & Wonders Geneva, the Kross Studio MT1 Chronometer Tourbillon 7 Days marks the launch of a major new collection for the independent Swiss manufacturer. This creation represents a milestone in the history of Kross Studio, as it is the first watch to be directly inspired by the personal vision of its founder and watch designer, Marco Tedeschi.

Entirely developed and manufactured in-house, the MT1 embodies a contemporary approach to fine watchmaking, combining mechanical innovation, modern architecture, and aesthetic purity.

A tourbillon manufacture movement with a 7-day power reserve

At the heart of the MT1 beats the new KS 7010 MT manufacture caliber, a skeletonized mechanical movement designed, decorated, and assembled in the Kross Studio workshops in Switzerland.

This construction features a flying tourbillon positioned at 6 o’clock, oscillating at 3 Hz, guaranteeing chronometric precision and stability. The movement’s architecture was designed with a clear objective in mind: to maximize performance while maintaining clear mechanical readability.

The integration of an oversized barrel, occupying almost the entire available surface of the plate, achieves a remarkable 7-day power reserve, a rare feat for a tourbillon watch housed in a case measuring just 44 mm.

The skeletonization of the caliber reveals the technical depth of the movement and highlights its resolutely mechanical character.

An innovative design with no visible crown

True to the creative DNA of Kross Studio, the MT1 adopts a radically streamlined exterior architecture.

The 44 mm circular case, with no lugs or visible side crown, offers a fluid and contemporary silhouette. The crown is discreetly integrated into the back of the watch and directly connected to the barrel for natural and ergonomic winding.

The time is set via a push-button positioned at 3 o’clock. A visual indicator on the back of the case instantly signals when the adjustment is activated, ensuring intuitive use while preserving the purity of the design.

Between mechanical power and aesthetic serenity

On the dial side, the MT1 reveals the complexity of its movement thanks to a skeletonized construction enhanced by angled bridges and traditional watchmaking finishes.

In contrast, the case back takes an almost meditative approach. Inspired by Japanese gardens, the barrel bridge features an exclusive decoration called Raindrop, evoking the ripples formed by a drop of water on a perfectly calm surface.

This contrast between technical sophistication and visual balance is one of the watch’s strong signatures.

High-tech materials and Haute Horlogerie finishes

The case is made of Grade 5 ELI (Extra Low Interstitials) titanium, a particularly pure alloy offering lightness, strength, and superior biocompatibility. Its circular satin finish is highlighted by polished chamfers that accentuate the finesse of the lines.

The movement rests on a lead-free German silver plate and bridges, decorated with satin finishes, pearling and entirely hand-bevelled. An anthracite ruthenium treatment enhances the visual depth of the whole.

Each component contributes to the overall harmony:

  • openworked wheels with circlets,
  • satin-finished steel with polished angles,
  • and a black opaline sandblasted flange ensuring perfect readability.

Ergonomics and comfort on the wrist

Designed as a true contemporary watchmaking experience, the MT1 prioritizes comfort as much as performance.

Its case, with no sharp edges, naturally hugs the wrist, while the domed sapphire crystal extends the continuity of the lines. The watch also features a quick-change strap system, allowing you to instantly adapt its style: calfskin, alligator, textile, or rubber, with a pin buckle or folding clasp.

Limited production

The Kross Studio MT1 Chronometer Tourbillon 7 Days will be produced in extremely limited quantities and distributed exclusively through a select network of retailers and the manufacturer.

This piece marks a new creative direction for Kross Studio, affirming a modern vision of independent haute horlogerie where mechanics become a true expression of personal style.
