A radical instrument watch, designed for those who expect haute horlogerie to serve time... and use.
Revolutionary double flyback chronograph in titanium, slanted display and EVO DNA
The LM Sequential Flyback EVO embodies one of the most accomplished expressions of contemporary haute horlogerie by MB&F. Featuring an EVO case in grade 5 titanium, a blue-green dial and an inclined time display, this edition combines extreme mechanical innovation, optimal readability and robustness designed for everyday use.
An award-winning dual chronograph, enhanced with flyback
Launched in 2022, the LM Sequential EVO marked a major milestone in MB&F’s history:
- 20th in-house caliber
- First MB&F chronograph
- Independent dual chronograph architecture
- Patented Twinverter system, a true mechanical logic switch
This avant-garde creation was awarded the Aiguille d’Or at the Grand Prix d’Horlogerie de Genève (GPHG), the highest distinction in watchmaking.
In 2024, the Sequential caliber evolved with the addition of a flyback function on each of the two chronographs.
In 2026, this mechanical feat joined the EVO universe with the LM Sequential Flyback EVO, combining sporting performance, enhanced reliability, and contemporary aesthetics.
Stephen McDonnell, engineering at the service of practicality
The Sequential Flyback movement was designed and developed by Stephen McDonnell, the genius watchmaker who had already created the LM Perpetual. His vision was to create watches that were fundamentally useful, capable of responding to real-life situations, far beyond technical demonstration.
The integration of the flyback was a major challenge:
- vertical clutches with internal jewel bearings
- extreme minimization of friction
- development of a specific ruby, handmade for the first prototype
- five patented elements, guaranteeing precision and reliability
The result: a double flyback chronograph that is unique in the world, with no loss of amplitude or compromise in energy.
The EVO spirit: performance, comfort, and durability
The LM Sequential Flyback EVO incorporates all the EVO attributes designed for a high-end mechanical sports watch:
- Grade 5 titanium case
- Water resistance to 80 m
- Screw-down crown
- Integrated rubber strap
- FlexRing shock absorption system, protecting the movement from shocks
- Angled display, improving time readability
Aesthetically, the EVO collection stands out for:
- its ergonomic case architecture without a traditional bezel
- domed sapphire crystals with Super-LumiNova
- dark movement finishes, emphasizing its modern and sporty character
What can the LM Sequential Flyback EVO do?
Thanks to its two independent chronographs, each equipped with flyback, and the Twinverter, the LM Sequential Flyback EVO offers five timing modes:
- Independent mode
- Timing of two separate events, with instant restart thanks to flyback.
- Simultaneous/split mode
- Synchronized start for two competitors, precise measurement of successive finishes, with no limit to 60 seconds.
- Cumulative mode
- Automatic addition of alternating times (ideal for work, sports, or chess).
- Sequential mode (lap counter)
- Timing of consecutive laps, perfectly suited to motor sports.
- Flyback mode
- Instantaneous stopping, resetting, and restarting with a single push, a legacy of 1930s aviation.
A unique energy architecture
Two independent chronographs share a single oscillator and a single escapement.
To avoid any loss of energy, Stephen McDonnell redesigned the chronograph from the ground up:
- vertical clutches integrated into the gear train
- internal ruby clutch shafts
- constant precision, whether the chronograph is engaged or not
The Sequential caliber thus surpasses traditional chronographs in terms of stability, precision, and energy efficiency.
A unique watchmaking vision
The LM Sequential Flyback EVO is the culmination of a historical reflection on the chronograph, from 19th-century horse racing to modern competitions.
With the Twinverter, MB&F introduces a mechanical programming logic that bridges the gap between watchmaking tradition and contemporary thinking.
The Legacy Machine Sequential Flyback EVO comes in a titanium case with a blue-green dial.
