Laurent's opinion
The SB10 is exactly what I expect from independent watchmaking today: a bold concept, executed to the very end.

The light of time, reinvented

An anniversary watch with a radical concept

To mark its tenth anniversary, Sartory-Billard unveils the SB10 Jumping Hour, a creation that marks a turning point in the history of this independent brand.
Stemming from the SB08 concept presented in 2024, this watch takes up a bold idea: to completely rethink the way time is read. While the initial project explored an extreme architecture combining multiple sapphires and complex complications, the SB10 distills its essence.
The result: a contemporary, streamlined jumping hour watch where legibility and materials take center stage.
This first Sartory-Billard complication represents a major evolution, transforming an ambitious horological vision into a polished, coherent timepiece suitable for everyday wear.

A jumping hour designed for readability

The SB10 reimagines the jumping hour complication with a resolutely modern approach.
At 6 o’clock, a large aperture reveals the hour on a sapphire disc. Unlike traditional watches with often narrow windows, Sartory-Billard has opted for a generous aperture, offering immediate and comfortable readability.
The numerals, specially designed for the brand, display a bold presence and a perfect balance between modernity and timelessness.
The hour change is instantaneous, crisp, and precise—a true mechanical moment that brings time to life.

A watch without hands

The SB10 stands out for its complete absence of hands.
The display relies on two ultra-thin sapphire discs (approximately 0.2 mm):
an hour disc with an instant jump every 60 minutes
a continuously rotating minute disc
This contrast between the jumping hours and the fluidity of the minutes creates a unique way of reading the time, both dynamic and intuitive.
Time is no longer read in the traditional way: it reveals itself.

The minutes in orbit

The minutes follow a peripheral rotation around the central cabochon.
A ring treated with Super-LumiNova BGW9 ensures clear readability day and night. A red marker precisely indicates the minute, ensuring excellent legibility.
In the dark, the watch takes on a new dimension: the ring glows with an intense turquoise hue, forming a continuous luminous halo.
The SB10 thus becomes a luminous, almost hypnotic watch, where time transforms into visual movement.
A fusion of watchmaking and jewelry
The SB10 abandons the traditional dial in favor of a central cabochon.
Inspired by jewelry, this sculpted element serves no mechanical function. It adds a sensory and aesthetic dimension to the watch.
Its surface captures light, but also touch. Whether polished or textured, the cabochon naturally invites interaction, creating a physical connection with the piece.

The watch is no longer merely read: it is felt.

Disco Ball: a luminous signature
In this Disco Ball version, the cabochon features a unique guilloché pattern composed of multiple micro-facets.
Every movement of the wrist transforms the perception of the watch. Light fragments, reflects, and constantly shifts.
This play of reflections gives the SB10 a vibrant, almost living presence.
A strong, instantly recognizable aesthetic that reinforces the unique character of this Sartory-Billard watch.
Mechanics Designed for Clarity
Behind its apparent simplicity, the SB10 is built on a rigorous construction:
La Joux-Perret G100 automatic caliber
Patented jumping hour module
Sapphire hour and minute discs
39.5 mm 316L stainless steel case

Every technical choice serves a specific purpose: to offer a clear, intuitive, and contemporary way of telling time.
A modern vision of independent watchmaking
With the SB10 Jumping Hour Disco Ball, Sartory-Billard offers a new interpretation of the jumping hour complication.

A watch where design, innovation, and materials come together to create a unique horological experience.
A timepiece designed to be admired, worn… and felt.
