Laurent's opinion
At Chronopassion, we don't just present objects. We support visions.

Description

Time is no longer a measure. It becomes a territory.

At URWERK, time is never a neutral concept. It is a field of exploration. A subject to be questioned. A boundary to be pushed back.
The UR-100V LS Ceramic is part of this philosophy. It does not tell the time. It puts it under tension. It exposes it in its most dizzying dimension: that of light and space.

This watch does not seek to seduce with its form. It imposes an idea.
A vision of time freed from earthly reference points, projected on a cosmic scale.

Here, the mechanics no longer serve to count the minutes. They make visible a universal phenomenon: the propagation of light. The UR-100V LS Ceramic does not just tell the time. It materializes a distance. It gives time a geography.

LightSpeed: a complication that changes the frame of reference

The LightSpeed module does not measure. It translates.
When the time satellite leaves its rail, it ceases to be an indicator. It becomes a vector. Its trajectory traces the path of a photon leaving the Sun to reach the planets of the solar system.

Mercury. Venus. Earth. Mars. Jupiter. Saturn. Uranus. Neptune.
Eight distances. Eight delays. One constant.

What the watch shows is not a number, but a movement.
Time is no longer abstract. It is embodied in a movement.

What we call “the present” does not exist. All light is a memory.
URWERK transforms this cosmic truth into mechanical language.

A material that did not exist

For this piece, URWERK did not simply choose a material.
It created one.

The case is made of ceramic composite: a polymer matrix incorporating ceramic, glass, and carbon fibers. It is not decorative ceramic. It is a structure. A material designed to resist, absorb, and endure.

Its laminated surface reveals layers, tensions, and controlled irregularities. The white is never neutral. It captures light, diffuses it, transforms it.
Depending on the angle, the case oscillates between a mineral matte and a spectral shine.

This case imitates nothing. It asserts a presence.

A mechanical architecture

Inside beats the UR 12.02 caliber.
A movement designed as a dynamic architecture.

The Windfänger system regulates winding by air resistance.
Two barrels ensure a 48-hour power reserve.
The frequency of 28,800 vibrations per hour guarantees constant stability.

The aluminum hour satellites, mounted on bronze-beryllium Maltese crosses, move on a three-dimensional carousel.
Each rotation is a reading. Each passage, a transition.

The grade 5 DLC titanium case back reveals the rotor in motion. An evocation of the Sun. The source.

A watch as a manifesto

The UR-100V LS Ceramic is not a ceremonial watch.
It does not seek to flatter. It seeks to move.

It is for those who do not just want to wear a watch, but to inhabit an idea.
For those who see time not as a constraint, but as a territory to be explored.
