KERIS MECA The reinvented manual mechanical movement

The MECA movement is a spectacular celebration of traditional watchmaking, revealed in a new form: that of an enlarged manual mechanism, designed to be admired, understood, and experienced differently. Designed in collaboration with KERIS in Neuchâtel, the cradle of Swiss haute horlogerie, MECA transforms a classic mechanical movement into a veritable kinetic sculpture, where each gear, spring, and bridge becomes a work of art in motion.

A fully exposed mechanical movement

Based on the OM10 caliber developed in La Chaux-de-Fonds, MECA highlights what watches usually keep hidden. The barrel spring, escapement, balance wheel, and gear train are all visible, palpable, and designed to function smoothly and durably thanks to high-precision ball bearings.

Each element is enhanced by a set of premium finishes—anodized aluminum, polished stainless steel, nickel-plated brass—revealing the meticulous work of Swiss craftsmanship.

An immersive watchmaking experience

More than a decorative object, MECA is a mechanical experience that allows you to intuitively understand how a manual movement works. By turning the oversized crown, the user sets the entire mechanism in motion: a unique way to observe the magic of watchmaking in real time, in large format.

KERIS also offers an immersive AR app that allows you to discover the inside of the movement, explore each component, view exploded diagrams, and even observe the mechanism in X-ray mode. This educational and interactive approach reinforces the artistic and technical dimensions of the piece.

Swiss Made: the visible heritage

Each MECA sculpture bears the emblematic engravings associated with the DNA of Swiss watchmaking:

  • SWISS MADE, affirming its design and assembly in Switzerland;
  • the emblem of the canton of Neuchâtel, a nod to traditional hallmarks;
  • the words ZERO (0) Jewels, a playful tribute to watch movements adorned with rubies.

Far from being anecdotal, these details reinforce the heritage and contemporary dimension of the project.

A unique piece by nature

Each MECA is handcrafted in small series, with finishes applied by hand. Slight variations in color or texture may appear from one piece to another: these are not differences, but signatures of authenticity.

Each sculpture thus becomes a unique piece, both in terms of its number and its character.
