Louis Erard and Vianney Halter continue their exploration of watchmaking that breaks free from convention with the Futur Antérieur Gold. Inspired by the Antiqua, Vianney Halter’s iconic creation, this limited edition of 178 pieces reinterprets the codes of retrofuturism through a unique design.
What sets this watch apart are its two independent dials, each powered by its own automatic mechanical movement. The first displays the hours and minutes, while the second is entirely dedicated to the small seconds. This separation of the displays transforms the act of telling time into an unusual visual and mechanical experience.
Entirely developed for this collaboration, the stainless steel case combines 67 components in a 38 x 44 mm structure that is just 8.85 mm thick. Its two raised bezels, accented with gold rivets, evoke the portholes characteristic of Vianney Halter’s universe. The surfaces alternate between circular brushing, vertical finishes, and polished bevels, highlighting the complexity of this architecture.
The Gold version stands out with its two 1N gold dials, whose grained surfaces contrast with the circular satin-finished rings and blued steel hands. The Vianney Halter-specific crowns extend this mechanical aesthetic down to the finest details.
Inside, two Sellita SW100 automatic calibers operate independently, each offering a typical power reserve of 42 hours.
A black ostrich leather strap completes this design, adding a classic touch to a watch that is decidedly timeless.
