The Tribute 1 Sandstein proves that a understated watch can have a powerful presence: it’s all about the balance of textures, the warmth of the sandy tones, and that signature Armin Strom mechanical architecture, which remains visible without ever being ostentatious.
Mineral elegance at the service of independent fine watchmaking
At Armin Strom, every creation tells a story where mechanics meet emotion. With the Tribute 1 Sandstein, the Swiss manufacturer offers a particularly subtle interpretation of its contemporary vision of traditional watchmaking, inspired this time by the historic stones of Burgdorf, Armin Strom’s hometown in the canton of Bern.
Limited to just 50 pieces, this hand-wound watch immediately captivates with the harmony of its sandy tones and its refined aesthetic, which is both warm and architectural. Its off-center dial, featuring a barley-grain guilloché pattern, Roman numerals, and a tone-on-tone grained sub-dial, evokes the natural hues of Burgdorf stone, a material emblematic of the Swiss region.
Housed in a 38mm stainless steel case with polished and satin-finished surfaces, the Tribute 1 Sandstein retains the refined proportions that have made the Tribute 1 collection a success. The sand-colored Alcantara strap further enhances this sense of softness and understated sophistication.
At the heart of the timepiece beats the AMW21 in-house caliber, entirely developed and assembled by Armin Strom. This hand-wound movement offers an impressive 100-hour power reserve while showcasing the mechanical architecture so dear to the brand. The barrel visible on the dial side, held in place by a spectacular mirror-polished two-finger bridge, adds depth and character to the whole.
Visible through the sapphire crystals on both sides of the case, the movement also reveals the full extent of the brand’s artisanal expertise: hand-finished bevels, alternating satin-finished and polished surfaces, mirror-polished screws, Côtes de Genève, and meticulous circling attest to the exceptionally high level of craftsmanship in this Swiss independent watch.
With the Tribute 1 Sandstein, Armin Strom presents an elegant, contemporary, and quintessentially horological watch, where the understated color palette highlights the richness of the mechanical work.
