The detail that makes all the difference. Here, it’s this date window that moves each day, subtly altering the balance of the dial—yet offering us an unusual way to view the passing month.
Viennese light on your wrist
With the Belvedere Day, Carl Suchy & Söhne offers a luminous and contemporary interpretation of its sporty watch with an integrated bracelet. Its white dial, paired with stainless steel and matching rubber, gives the Belvedere a particularly clean and refined look, true to the understated elegance of the Viennese maison.
Behind this apparent simplicity, however, lies an unusual complication: a moving date window that changes position every day. Rather than fixing the date in a traditional location, Carl Suchy & Söhne has it travel around the dial. Every twenty-four hours, its new position subtly alters the watch’s visual balance.
A dial that evolves every day
The white lacquered dial features a concave flange that accentuates its depth. The rhodium-plated hour markers, also concave, are generously coated with Super-LumiNova®, as are the skeletonized Dauphine hands.
This design ensures excellent legibility while giving the dial a truly graphic quality. The daily movement of the date window adds an extra touch of dynamism—almost imperceptible at first glance, yet becoming one of the Belvedere’s defining features.
A sporty watch by Carl Suchy & Söhne
The 40.8 mm case is crafted from 316L stainless steel. The micro-blasted surfaces are accented by polished elements on the bezel, lugs, and case back, creating variations in light without disrupting the overall understated design.
With a lug-to-lug length of 43.9 mm and a thickness of 12.2 mm, the Belvedere Day maintains balanced proportions. Its water resistance to 100 meters confirms its purpose as a watch designed for everyday wear.
The integrated white rubber strap naturally extends the lines of the case. Its inner surface features an embossed motif inspired by the gardens of the Belvedere Palace in Vienna—a detail that reflects Carl Suchy & Söhne’s attachment to its Austrian roots.
CSS201 Automatic Caliber
The Belvedere Day is powered by the CSS201 automatic caliber, developed and customized in collaboration with Dubois Dépraz based on the DD90000.
Operating at 4 Hz—or 28,800 vibrations per hour—it offers 42 hours of power reserve and features 21 jewels.
Visible through the watch’s case back, the movement features a gold oscillating weight whose micro-engraving reproduces the façade of the Belvedere Palace in Vienna. The mechanical architecture and decoration thus extend the watch’s Viennese aesthetic down to its least immediately visible details.
