HAUTLENCE Kubera: sculptural, graphic, and instantly recognizable.
HAUTLENCE Kubera Series 1: A New Way to Tell Time
With the Kubera Series 1, HAUTLENCE launches a new collection and a new aesthetic language. Featuring an original case, an integrated bracelet, and a new mechanical display, this FB60-ST00 model marks an important milestone for the manufacturer, which has remained committed since 2004 to exploring different ways of telling time.
The Kubera combines a jumping hour with an original peripheral minute display, housed in a 36 x 43.8 mm stainless steel case. Its highly architectural design draws on the design codes cherished by HAUTLENCE while opening a new chapter in the brand’s history.
A sculptural case and an integrated bracelet
The HAUTLENCE Kubera Series 1 immediately stands out thanks to its rectangular steel case, built around a succession of levels and surfaces. Its geometric lines play with the light and give the watch an almost monolithic presence.
Measuring 36 x 43.8 mm and 11.3 mm thick, the Kubera maintains a distinct presence on the wrist without becoming overly large.
Its integrated stainless steel bracelet is an integral part of the watch’s design. Its links gradually decrease in size to create a cascading effect and ensure a natural transition between the case and the bracelet. A micro-adjustment system allows for a precise fit.
Jumping Hour and Peripheral Minutes
Here, HAUTLENCE abandons traditional hands in favor of a fully mechanical and graphic display of time.
The hour is displayed in a jumping hour window and changes instantly every sixty minutes. The minutes are indicated by a turquoise slider that moves around the dial along a peripheral rail concealed beneath its surface.
The brass dial features an olive-green lacquer finish and a raised geometric pattern. Its construction enhances the overall depth of the watch while highlighting the movement of the minute slider.
This combination of a jumping hour and peripheral minute display gives the Kubera an instantly recognizable readout and transforms the passage of time into a true mechanical spectacle.
A new automatic caliber developed with Agenhor
The Kubera Series 1 is powered by the B60 automatic caliber, built on a Lajoux-Perret base and equipped with a non-magnetic escapement.
The specialized module that controls the jumping hours and peripheral minutes display was developed by Agenhor in collaboration with HAUTLENCE.
Beating at 28,800 vibrations per hour, the movement consists of 244 components and 28 jewels. It offers a minimum power reserve of 70 hours and can be viewed through the sapphire crystal case back.
Kubera: Where Material Meets Architecture
In Hindu mythology, the name Kubera refers to the god of wealth and guardian of the earth’s treasures. This reference finds its natural place in this watch, with its sculpted forms, layered surfaces, and textured dial.
With the Kubera Series 1, HAUTLENCE seeks to do more than simply introduce a new case design. The brand envisions a cohesive whole in which architecture, movement, and display are intimately intertwined.
This approach perfectly encapsulates HAUTLENCE’s philosophy: using mechanical watchmaking to offer a different way of representing time.
