An Explosion of Color: Armin Strom Presents Tribute 1 with Smoked Dials and Guilloche Plates
Armin Strom unveils a colorful version of its most streamlined watch, the Tribute 1, with four smoked dials limited to ten pieces each. Equipped with a hand-wound movement developed and manufactured in-house, the Tribute 1 Fumé is a mechanical marvel that combines modernity and vintage elegance. A tribute to simplicity, this three-hand watch represents perhaps the purest expression of the art of watchmaking. Every detail is carefully considered to create a harmonious, original and unique timepiece.
The Tribute 1 now boasts even greater sophistication, with smoked dials in four vibrant shades and guilloché dial plates crafted in the workshop of renowned independent watchmaker Kari Voutilainen. Limited versions of this watch are available in ocean, slate, sky and burgundy colors. The deep, sophisticated smoked dial lends a new dimension to the watch, with a vignette effect that evokes the 1970s, creating a gradation of luminous tones in the center and darker hues towards the edge.
The dial, with sunray satin-finish on its metal base, is animated by light, revealing different tones and hues depending on the angle. This dynamic effect is accentuated by the anthracite guilloché plate, handcrafted by Kari Voutilainen.
Claude Greisler, co-founder and master watchmaker, says of this new creation: “The Tribute 1 literally represents a departure from the classic watch. From the slim 38 mm steel case with the crown exceptionally positioned at 2 o’clock to the small off-center dial, harmony reigns over this asymmetry. As with all Armin Strom creations, a highly ingenious mechanical system can be seen on the dial side.”
The innovative motorized barrel, visible and held in place by an “open finger” bridge, stands out for its efficiency and compactness, offering 100 hours of power reserve thanks to a single spring. The hand-wound AMW21 caliber, proof of Armin Strom’s mastery of hand-finishing, is sumptuously decorated using a variety of decorative techniques.
Finally, the Tribute 1 Fumé is finished with a supple, velvety grey alcantara calfskin leather strap with white stitching. This limited edition of the Tribute 1 Fumé offers a dynamic, colorful interpretation of Armin Strom’s classic three-hand watch.
