Independent Swiss luxury watch brand Armin Strom today announced the launch of the Tribute 1 rose gold edition. Crafted in a precious metal for the first time, this warm-toned, textured rose gold and anthracite creation features a 38mm 18-carat rose gold case. A black alligator strap completes the picture. In true Armin Strom tradition, this watch ingeniously combines classic styling with the brand’s signature skeletonized mechanism. The Tribute 1 rose gold edition, produced in a limited edition of 100, is sure to appeal to watch lovers who appreciate the brand’s innovative Swiss-German design spirit and its totally original vision of time.

Armin Strom: continuing to redefine a genre

In 2021, Armin Strom’s launch of the Tribute 1 stainless steel watch did not go unnoticed in the world of haute horlogerie. With its 38 mm case and slender profile, it embodied the traditional qualities of a modern dress watch, but with its discreet off-center dial, motorized barrel and exposed bridge, it redefined its genre. Now, with this rose gold edition, Armin Strom presents the very first Tribute 1 in precious metal.

A striking design

The off-center dial is riveted in black gold, revealing a textured effect known as “azurage”. Its even indexes are coated in 18 ct 5N rose gold, as are the hour, minute and seconds hands, which, like the movement, have been specially designed and manufactured in-house at Armin Strom. The adjacent dial plate and its graining finish offer subtle changes of hue depending on the light conditions, producing an attractive range of anthracite shades. It contrasts pleasantly with the dial.

This already remarkable side also features an exposed skeletonized motorized barrel, meticulously hand-polished, on which are engraved the words “100 HOURS POWER RESERVE”. This sensational display is complemented by a meticulously hand-beveled barrel bridge, which is coated in 18 ct 5N rose gold. The Tribute 1 rose gold’s crown is positioned at 2 o’clock, a distinction that enhances the wearer’s comfort.

A back as admirable as the dial

The sapphire crystal back reveals the hand-wound AMW 21 caliber. The three-quarter bridge, adorned with Côtes de Genève decoration and 60° hand-bevelling, is also on display. Other hand-crafted decorations can also be admired: the main plate features circular-graining, while the balance bridge features chamfering, sandblasting and drawn lines also present on the sides. The escapement and escapement bridge add a three-dimensional look, and their hand-chamfering reinforces the luxurious appearance of the Tribute 1 Rose Gold.

Like all Armin Strom movements, the AMW 21 caliber was developed and manufactured in-house. Thanks to a highly efficient, hand-polished motorized barrel whose shaft rotates (unusually) around the main spring, it offers a remarkable 100-hour power reserve. And like each of the brand’s calibers, it is assembled twice. In other words, after its initial assembly, Armin Strom’s watchmakers dismantle the movement and reassemble it, to guarantee the quality of each component and the watch’s flawless performance.
