HM Double Hemisphere Perpetual Moon

Today, Arnold and Son luxury watches of Switzerland produces a number of moon phase watches as part of its Royal Collection of watches, including its HM Perpetual Moon, HM Double Hemisphere Moon and HM Perpetual Moon Aventurine models, in a range of case materials, including Rose gold and stainless steel, and a diverse range of dial colours. The Arnold and Son Perpetual Moon is for example, itself available in three versions; the HM Perpetual Moon Elegant Model in an 18 carat red gold case material combined with a stunning blue guilloche dial with sunray pattern, the Perpetual Moon Classic, also with an 18 carat red gold case material but with a cream dial and blue guilloche moon disc with gold stars with hand engraved moon, while the Perpetual Moon Modern with stainless steel case houses a black guilloche dial and black guilloche moon disc and hand engraved moon.

If you read a review of any Arnold and Son luxury watch Switzerland Moonphase type watch you are sure to be reassured of the outstanding quality of these watches from the A&S Royal collection, as of course are the watches and movements making up the Swiss brand's Instrument Collection. Just as with watches from manufacturers such as Patek Philippe, beware of any imitation or replica, especially if you find a watch at a cheap price, as Arnold and Son's watches are always limited edition pieces which hold their price and value extremely well, no matter whether they are from the Royal or Instrument Collection.

The Swiss manufacture's A&S Royal Collection pays tribute to the early work of the founder of Arnold and Son in London, England, John Arnold, and of course, the work of his son, John Roger Arnold. Their story is one which includes the masterpiece watches gifted to King George III and the Royal Court, apprenticeships served in the Netherlands and Paris, France ultimately led to the creation of stunning chronometers and pocket watches, and worldwide fame in both the southern and northern hemispheres. Arnold and Son London became synonymous with chronometers of exceptional quality, panache and the very clearly defined style of watch and watchmaking from England at the time, exactly the attributes which Arnold and Son luxury watches of Switzerland and the moon phase watches that form part of their Arnold and Son Royal Collections aim to replicate today.

The HM Double Hemisphere Perpetual Moon from A&S watch is a perfect example of the above, which would add joy to any fine watch collection, and is offered at an amazing price for a perpetual moon phase watch of this quality. The HM Double Hemisphere Perpetual Moon from Arnold and Son has two features which are immediately striking: the 18 Karat red gold 42mm case, with anti-reflective sapphire crystals to the dial side and back, is home to not one but two of the largest moon phase indicators of any moon phase type watch. Equally important is the fact that this hand wound watch is the very first to display the moon phase as seen from the southern and northern hemispheres simultaneously, one from the front and one from the rear of the gorgeous 18k rose gold case, the rear brilliantly visible through anti-reflective crystal sapphire. These features give the watch its full title: The A&S Double Hemisphere Perpetual Moon. And what about the movement? Utilizing the A&S1512 calibre, or calibre, as some say, crammed within the 42mm, rose gold case in a staggeringly large 29mm moon phase disc, with the moons, amazingly detailed hand engraved sourced facsimiles in all three dimensions, of 11.2mm diameter themselves, perfectly contrasting with the luxuriantly blue guilloche dial, offering moon phase views of the southern hemisphere to the front, and at the same time, the view of the northern hemisphere through the back, The A&S1512 hand wound movement offers staggering accuracy with moon phase, equivalent to only one day deviation every 122 years! The double barrel main spring mechanism provides an excellent 90 hours of power reserve. 90 hours of power reserve for the movement? Yes, 90 hours, indeed! The movement itself, of rhodium treated nickel silver, exhibited through the sapphire crystal to the watch back, offers unparalleled Haute Horlogerie detailing, with hand-chamfered bridges and hand polished edges, a masterclass in circular graining, Cotes de Geneve Rayonnantes and blued, polished screws.

A hand-stitched alligator leather strap, in either black or brown offers the perfect complement to a rose gold case, translucent blue lacquer, fine graining and the joy of the moon phase display itself. This is truly a rare, limited edition watch, of which many will attempt to create a replica. It comes at a great price, considering the beauty of the movement. And what a movement! Arnold and son created a movement which is not only a replica of the blue and gold colours of our satellite and the sky, but also a replica of the perpetual movement of the celestial bodies in the blue sky. A movement which, for hours and hours, allows you to admire on your own wrist the blue sky illuminated with a light of gold. Did you read a review of Arnold & Son HM Perpetual Moon? In steel with its striking blue dial, it’s very popular and a review will give you hands-on info on price, dial, case and all the usual items always featured in a review. Allow a review to give you a hand, so you don’t think we’re biased, as the version in steel, blue dial and the gold of the moonlight may be indeed our favourite.

At a great price, a replica of the blue universe on your wrist. Do not hesitate to review the full details also of the A&S Double Hemisphere Perpetual Moon on the web, and perhaps peruse a review or two of this beautiful limited edition watch yourself.
