I love this Aqualab because it's unlike any other diver's watch. Its unique dial and bold design give it a real personality.
Gagà Laboratorio Aqualab Anthracite: a diver's watch with a unique dial
With the Aqualab Anthracite, Gagà Laboratorio offers its own take on the diver’s watch. A timepiece with a strong personality that combines a robust construction, water resistance to 200 meters, and an original display blending digital hours and analog minutes.
This model, reference AQAN-003.R03, stands out for its Gun PVD-coated stainless steel case, its anthracite dial, and its distinctive dual-crown design. A sporty and contemporary watch, designed to be just as at home in the water as it is in everyday life.
A 44-mm Gun PVD-coated stainless steel case
The Aqualab Anthracite features a 316L stainless steel case measuring 44 mm in diameter and 15 mm in thickness. Its Gun PVD coating gives it a dark hue that accentuates its proportions and reinforces the watch’s technical character.
The case is topped with a double-domed sapphire crystal with an anti-reflective coating and is rated water-resistant to 200 meters.
Its design features two vertically arranged crowns. The crown at the 12 o’clock position sets the time, while the one at the 6 o’clock position controls the inner minute track.
The case back is secured by four screws.
A display combining digital hours and analog minutes
One of the distinctive features of the Gagà Laboratorio Aqualab lies in the way it displays the time.
The hours are shown digitally via a disc, while the minutes are indicated analogically. A central seconds hand completes the readout.
The hour and minute markers are coated with Super-LumiNova to enhance visibility in low-light conditions. The inner graduated ring also incorporates one of the functional hallmarks of dive watches.
This combination gives the Aqualab an instantly recognizable visual identity, a far cry from the traditional design of three-hand dive watches.
La Joux-Perret G100 Automatic Caliber
The Aqualab Anthracite is powered by the La Joux-Perret G100 automatic caliber, a Swiss movement operating at a frequency of 4 Hz, or 28,800 vibrations per hour.
Featuring 24 jewels, it offers a generous power reserve of 68 hours, allowing the watch to remain unworn for more than two days without needing to be wound.
The choice of this caliber provides a proven mechanical foundation for a watch whose originality lies primarily in its architecture and display.
A Different Kind of Dive Watch
With its 44-mm case, anthracite Gun PVD finish, dual-crown system, and display combining digital and analog readouts, the Aqualab AQAN-003.R03 offers a decidedly different take on the dive watch.
Gagà Laboratorio retains the functional attributes of the genre—robustness, readability, water resistance to 200 meters, and a rubber strap—while integrating them into a much more personal design.
A sporty watch that does not seek to replicate the classic codes of the dive watch, but rather to interpret them through Gagà Laboratorio’s own unique language.
